A pathway to success for academically ambitious girls aged 11-18 years


Our range of 10-week courses are created to stimulate intellectual curiosity and develop critical thinking skills, and lead to the Downe House Diploma upon successful completion.


Our two-year Diploma comprises of four 10-week courses in the areas of Global Affairs - Social Sciences, STEM - Applied Sciences and Literature & Public Speaking,  all taught through our outstanding e-Learning Portal where each student can participate in their online lessons, complete their coursework, track their progress and stay in touch with their tutor. These blended asynchronous courses include a mix of live, interactive lessons and are supported with a wealth of learning support resources at the click of a button.

Each student will have a Tutor to guide them through their course, as well as a learning buddy, a Downe House girl who is currently a pupil at our School in the UK, to offer deeper insights into learning at a British Boarding school.

Students will also be offered two talks by guest speakers, all experts in their areas of study.

Our 10-week modules can also be studied as stand-alone courses.

Global Affairs - Social Sciences: Transforming our World


Discover a cohesive approach to solving the problems facing the world through the study of the UN's Sustainable Development Goals, and explore and develop your own ideas based to 'save the world'! You will gain an understanding of the importance of Social Sciences, whilst enhancing your evaluation and academic analysis skills.

Literature & Public Speaking: Scratching the Surface of Literature


Dive in a range of poems centred around the theme of 'change and progress' to develop an understanding of literary forms, terminology and structural devices. Learn how to 'read between the lines' and interpret meanings as well as enhancing your skills of debating and personal expression.

STEM - Applied Sciences: Creating Life on Another Planet


A masterclass in employing scientific skills to create life on another planet, in this course you will engage with the world around us and examine the reasons we are so perfect for life on earth. What do we need to survive and thrive, and is it ever going to be possible for us to live elsewhere in our solar system?

Economics Programme: A Nudge in the Right Direction!


Delve into one of the most progressive and dynamic aspects of public policy - behavioural economics. Blending economics with psychology and sociology, behavioural economics analyses how different economic agents react to optimise happiness, wealth and living standards.

English Programme: Confronting Clothing


Analyse fiction and non-fiction texts on the theme of clothing and fashion in a range of written forms. Develop an understanding of forms, terminology and structural devices, expand your vocabulary and improve your writing skills. Learn to 'read between the lines', gain enhanced debating and discussion skills and confidence to express your personal opinions.

STEM Programme: Understanding Intelligence


Explore mankind's determination to understand more about intelligence and whether it wise to try and teach computers this mysterious quality. Uncover the experiments that try to understand and teach consciousness and intelligence, learn about the digital revolution and how computers and technology influence our daily lives, and debate the pros and cons of artificial intelligence.
