AXA R1 The Art of the Sonnet

Description
Introduction
The sonnet form is one of the most inventive, long-lasting and beautiful forms of writing poetry. From Dante to Shakespeare to almost every modern poet imaginable, the sonnet, over hundreds of years, has become one of the most important styles of poetry. But, how? By exploring various famous examples, this course will investigate what makes the sonnet so timelessly popular, and how is it that 14 lines can contain such wonder. Along the way, students will refine their ability to think about and analyse poetry.
